MADE FOR FOUNDATION CIGARS BY A. J. FERNANDEZ
Nick Melillo, founder of Foundation Cigars found the inspiration for this cigar on a buying trip through Mexico. The Olmec were an ancient civilization in Mexico (1600 – 400 BCE) that laid the path for future civilizations, like the Mayans and Aztecs. The Olmec were known to cultivate and enjoy tobacco, thus the decision to pay tribute.
Featuring a stunning San Andres wrapper, either a rich Maduro or mellower Claro, the cigar embraces a Nicaraguan binder and fillers from Esteli and Jalapa that have been bale-aged a minimum of three years. The slow fermentation allows for the tobaccos to reach their fullest potential and allows for the natural retention of the leaf’s oils.
Medium to full-bodied, the Olmec offers notes of cocoa, espresso, and spice. The construction and draw are perfect, and you will enjoy an exceptional cigar one after another.
