Cigar Aficionado's No. 2 Cigar of the Year! (Rated 95)
In the world of cigars, it's hard to find a man more experienced - or more respected - than Ernesto Perez-Carrillo. He got his start in the cigar business making La Gloria Cubanas in a modest factory located in the heart of Miami's Little Havana.
During the cigar boom of the 1990's, La Gloria Cubana went from a curiosity to an institution, becoming one of the most sought-after cigars in the world. Perez-Carrillo expanded into the Dominican Republic to keep up with demand and in 1999 sold his company to General Cigars. He left General Cigars in 2009. Perez-Carrillo formed EPC Cigars with his children, Lissette and Ernesto lll, that same year.
In celebration of their fifth anniversary, EPC created the La Historia brand. Ernesto Perez-Carrillo worked two years on this cigar and the response has been tremendous. Cigar Aficionado bestowed the honor of naming this cigar the No. 2 cigar of the Year for 2014.
La Historia is a perfectly balanced, medium to full-bodied cigar finished with a luxurious, dark leaf San Andres Valley Mexican wrapper surrounding Ecuadorian binder and a blend of Nicaraguan fillers - a blend created by one of the masters of our time.
