Wrapper: Ecuadorian Habano
Country of Origin: Nicaragua
Cigar Strength: Medium - Full-Bodied
This is a line of cigars that we are truly proud of. We leaned on a couple of friends to help out with some of the blends. Adrian Acosta helped blend our Ecuadorian Habano and Esteban Disla of Nica Sueño helped us out with the Mexican San Andres. All of the cigars have over 6 months of age before hitting the shelves.
- Spence Drake, founder of La Familia Robaina Cigars
The Ilegal brand is made by La Familia Robaina, formerly known as White Hat Cigars. This cigar was one of my “spoils” from the TPE 2020 Trade Show in Las Vegas. I enjoyed these cigars during my trip and couldn’t wait to get them back here for our guys.
All of the Ilegal cigars are made at the La Corona factory in Esteli, Nicaragua and are given extra aging to truly bring out the best of the tobaccos. The company is very “hush-hush” about the blend of filler and binder, but we do know that the cigar is offered in two wrappers: a delicious Ecuadorian Habano or San Andres Maduro
You will find the Ilegal cigars to offer a medium to full-bodied smoke with notes of citrus, nuts, earth and pepper. The flavor is zesty, crisp and bountiful. You’re not going to be cheated. I hope you enjoy these as much as I do.
(Kudos and thanks to my friend Joel who recommended I try these)
