Sometimes I read the crap below and wonder who comes up with these tasting notes. I mean, really, chewing tobacco and seared meat? I don’t know about you, but if I wanted chewing tobacco, I’d buy chewing tobacco. If I wanted seared meat, I’d barbecue!
I won’t rant on, but I will tell you that both cigars are excellent. The new Hoyo Rojo and Oscuro are delicious, medium bodied, medium + cigars featuring beautiful wrappers and a perfect, balanced blend. The price point is attractive, and it offers a quality smoke in a very affordable price bracket. Not every new cigar has to be $10 or more. Hoyo de Monterrey is one of the cigar industry’s legacy brands and this latest version won’t disappoint.
ROJO | A sophisticated blend highlighted by a flavorful Honduran wrapper from the fertile soils of the Jamastran valley. Binder and filler tobaccos from Honduras, Nicaraguan, and Dominican Republic ups the body, adds the right amount of spice, and rounds out this blend perfectly making it an experience to be enjoyed by all levels of cigar. The cigar sits in the medium body range with reminiscent tasting notes of Saigon cinnamon, toasted marshmallow, chewing tobacco, and seared meat.
