Wrapper: Light Connecticut Shade or Connecticut Broadleaf
Country of Origin: Nicaragua
Cigar Strength: Medium
Every time I light up this cigar, I’m amazed by how inexpensive it is. Charter Oak, along with Tabernacle and The Wise Man make up the “big 3” brands from Foundation Cigar, an up and coming company that is making a name for itself with outstanding cigars. The Charter Oak is almost half the price of the other two.
Made at Tabacalera AJ Fernandez Cigars in Nicaragua, the Charter Oak is offered in a light, silky Connecticut Shade wrapper or an impressive Connecticut Broadleaf Maduro wrapper. A Sumatran binder surrounds carefully chosen Nicaraguan Jalapa and Esteli tobaccos to create an excellent, balanced smoke.
You will find Charter Oak to be medium-bodied and creamy with notes of caramel, oak and nuttiness. At this price, it’s the perfect everyday and every occasion cigar.
