I’ve been doing business with this company since the 1980’s. Tropical Tobacco was owned by Pedro Martin and they produced some of the great cigars from the 1980’s and 1990’s. The company was purchased by Eduardo Fernandez about 15 years ago and became first, Tabacalera Tropical, then Casa Fernandez and finally they are now known as Aganorsa Leaf Cigars. Keep in mind that Aganorsa leaf is tobacco and Aganorsa Leaf Cigars is the company that makes cigars.
When you make a great cigar, the first step is great tobacco and Aganorsa leaf is flat-out the best tobacco in Nicaragua. This company makes cigars and sells other leaf to some of the biggest and best companies in the industry. Aganorsa produces about 13,000 bales of tobacco a year and the company selects the best 1500 bales for their own cigars.
Enough with the history lesson. Casa Fernandez Aganorsa Corojo is a gem. Full-bodied and full-flavored, The Casa Fernandez Aganorsa Corojo is blended to highlight the range of taste and flavor Aganorsa tobacco can produce.
The wrapper features an Aganorsa Corojo wrapper topping off Nicaraguan Aganorsa fillers and binder. The smoke is rich and thick with a hearty aroma and a long, lingering and full finish. You will find magnificent notes of cedar and caramel resulting in a cigar that will leave you hankering for the next one.
The climatic conditions at Aganorsa’s farms are very similar to the Cuban growing region of Pinar Del Rio and will remind you of the cigars you smoke only while traveling abroad. All of Aganorsa Leaf’s cigars are handmade in Nicaragua or at their factory in Little Havana, Miami.
