A pilon is a stack of tobacco leaves meticulously configured in small configurations. Dating back to 19th century Cuba, this method of natural fermentation maximizes the flavor and color of the leaves to deliver a taste and appearance unattainable through other methods. The process is very labor intensive and time consuming. CAO opted to apply this time-honored method to this cigar.
CAO Pilon features a hearty Ecuadorian Habano wrapper that boosts an already flavorful Nicaraguan filler and binder. The smoke is deep and full with notes of charred wood, spice and nuts. The draw and construction are excellent.
The CAO Pilon is a terrific smoke and a great value for a cigar of this complexity.
