CAO Amazon Basin is one of the most unique cigars that we've ever offered. This was one of my favorite cigars introduced at the 2014 IPCPR Cigar Trade Show.
CAO Amazon Basin is made with rare tobacco from a remote region in the Amazonian Rain Forest. Called "Braganca", the tobacco is organically grown on unspoiled tropical land and harvested just once every three years. The leaves are rolled by hand into tubes called "carottes" where they undergo six months of natural fermentation. They are then transported out of the rain forest by canoe, taken to the mainland, and ultimately brought to the CAO factory in Esteli, Nicaragua.
There, the CAO blenders allow the Braganca leaf to take center stage, surrounded by tobaccos curated from five different countries. Sheathed in a beautiful Ecuadorian Sumatra wrapper from the highest primings, the cigars delivers an exotic and unique taste never experienced by most connoisseurs.
Overall, you will find the CAO Amazon Basin to be a rich, hearty and powerful smoke.
