The American 250th Anniversary Cigar is a commemorative cigar produced by J.C. Newman Cigar Co. to honor the 250th anniversary of the United States Declaration of Independence in 2026.
“J.C. Newman is proud to roll official cigars of the 250th Anniversary of the United States,” said fourth-generation cigar maker Drew Newman. “Cigars have been an important part of our country since its founding. Therefore, it is only fitting that we celebrate the 250th anniversary of our country with American-made cigars.”
The American is handcrafted at the historic El Reloj Cigar Factory in Tampa. It is the first 100% all-American cigar. It is rolled in El Reloj entirely from heirloom American tobaccos, and all its packaging is made in America as well.
The cigar features a Florida Sun Grown wrapper, a Connecticut Broadleaf binder, and a blend of Connecticut Havana Seed and Pennsylvania Mennonite filler tobaccos. This combination creates a medium to full-bodied smoking experience with rich notes of earth, wood, subtle spice, and natural sweetness.
In partnership with the United States Semi Quincentennial Commission and its nonprofit initiative America250, cigars produced at the El Reloj factory will feature a special America250 seal foot band to commemorate the nation’s semi quincentennial celebration. The release highlights both the historical importance of tobacco in early American culture and the continued craftsmanship of premium cigar production in the United States.
